Agriculture Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Agriculture Equipment Mechanic to join our family farming operation. This full-time role focuses on maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of agricultural equipment to keep our operations running efficiently during critical planting, harvesting, and fieldwork seasons. Ideal candidates will also bring semi-truck mechanic experience, as we maintain a fleet of support vehicles and trucks. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on tractors, combines, harvesters, planters, tillage equipment, and other ag machinery. Conduct preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues; weld and fabricate as needed. Service and repair semi-trucks, trailers, and related heavy-duty vehicles (preferred). Maintain accurate service records, parts inventories, and safety documentation. Assist with equipment transport and setup during peak seasons. Work collaboratively with farm team members in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
3+ years of hands-on experience as an ag equipment mechanic (or equivalent heavy equipment/diesel mechanic role).
Strongly Preferred:
Experience working as a semi-truck mechanic, including engine, transmission, brake, and suspension repairs. Proficiency with diagnostic tools, welding, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Valid driver's license (CDL a plus). Ability to work independently and safely in all weather conditions. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Local candidates preferred (Hanover/Caroline County area).
Compensation & Benefits Competitive Pay:
Based on experience (hourly or salaried - discussed at interview). Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week with flexible hours to accommodate your needs. Health insurance options. Pay:
$25.73 - $40.00 per hour
