Responsibilities Assist with the installation of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems. Support technicians in diagnosing electrical issues using tools like ohmmeters and troubleshooting mechanical systems. Help with routine maintenance tasks such as system inspections, and cleaning to ensure optimal performance. Learn to read schematics and HVAC design plans to aid in system setup and repairs. Participate in plumbing and electrical diagnostics to identify issues affecting HVAC performance. Aid in equipment troubleshooting and repair efforts for HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) systems. Support field service operations by preparing work sites, handling hand tools safely, and ensuring compliance with safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants. Experience Previous construction experience or service technician background is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential. Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, and mechanical knowledge is advantageous. Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, installation, or maintenance enhances your candidacy. Knowledge of electrical diagnostics, plumbing, refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—is highly desirable. Ability to operate hand tools effectively and perform mechanical systems repair confidently. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required for field service activities. Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are a plus; ongoing training will be provided for those interested in expanding their expertise.
