This position is ideal for a skilled installer with strong troubleshooting abilities and experience completing residential and light commercial retrofit replacements. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and able to complete high-quality installations while delivering excellent customer service. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of HVAC installation experience , a strong understanding of current HVAC codes and best practices, and a commitment to ongoing training, including NATE certification and new technology education. Key Responsibilities Remove and replace residential HVAC equipment including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini splits, and air handlers Install ductwork modifications, flue piping, line sets, condensate drains, and ventilation systems as needed Ensure all installations meet manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company quality standards Perform start-up procedures and confirm system performance (airflow, static pressure, refrigerant charge, combustion analysis if applicable) Accurately complete installation paperwork, job notes, and equipment documentation Maintain a clean, organized job site and follow safety standards at all times Communicate professionally with homeowners and team members Train and assist apprentices/helpers when needed Work efficiently while maintaining high workmanship standards Participate in ongoing training for HVAC advancements, energy-efficient equipment, and new technology Required Qualifications 5+ years HVAC installation / retrofit experience (required) EPA Certification (Universal preferred) HVAC certification education or trade school training required Strong knowledge of: Residential furnace and AC replacements Heat pump installs Airflow and duct design fundamentals Refrigerant charging and recovery procedures Electrical wiring and low voltage controls Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record Must pass background check Must be able to work overtime , including occasional evenings and weekends Ability to work independently and complete installs from start to finish Strong communication and customer service skills Preferred Qualifications NATE Certification or willingness to obtain Experience installing: High-efficiency furnaces and boilers Variable speed systems Mini-split systems Smart thermostats and zoning systems IAQ products (humidifiers, air cleaners, UV lights, ventilation systems) Experience with new HVAC technology and diagnostic tools Leadership experience or ability to lead a retrofit crew Standard Job Requirements (Industry Expectations) Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Familiarity with local mechanical codes, NEC basics, and permit requirements Must supply basic hand tools (company may provide specialty tools) Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and work in crawl spaces, attics, rooftops, and confined areas Ability to climb ladders and work in varying weather conditions Professional appearance and behavior while representing the company Ability to use mobile apps/tablets for job documentation (preferred) Work Environment We are a locally owned company with the owner having been in business for over 30 years. This position involves working in residential and light commercial settings. Installers should be comfortable working in tight spaces, handling heavy equipment, and completing physically demanding tasks while maintaining a strong attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
