Job Description

The Opportunity This isn't just another service tech job—it's an opportunity to build and run an HVAC division with the backing, capital, and client pipeline of a thriving plumbing company. You will be the driving force behind all facets of our HVAC operations, from residential boiler and furnace installations to light commercial service and changeouts. If you have the field expertise, leadership mindset, and desire to earn beyond a standard hourly wage, this position offers direct profit-sharing through a performance-based percentage structure.
Key Responsibilities Division Growth & Execution:
Drive field operations, service calls, and equipment installations while actively building and retaining a loyal customer base.
Full-Scope HVAC Contracting:
Diagnose, service, design, and install residential boilers (oil and gas), furnaces, heat pumps, mini-splits, and light commercial equipment.
Estimating & Job Scoping:
Perform site evaluations, build job scopes, calculate material lists, and deliver professional proposals to residential and commercial clients.
Quality & Code Compliance:
Ensure all installations meet CT state mechanical codes, manufacturer specs, and a high standard of workmanship.
Future Team Leadership:
As the division expands, lead the hiring, training, and management of secondary technicians and apprentices.
Qualifications & Requirements Licensing:
Valid Connecticut Heating/Cooling License (S-1, S-2 preferred).
Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience in residential boiler/furnace systems, hydronics, forced air, heat pumps, and light commercial equipment.
Self-Starter Mindset:
Proven ability to work independently, manage job timelines, and build customer trust.
Technical Skills:
Strong background in electrical troubleshooting, refrigerant handling (EPA Universal certified), hydronic piping, and system sizing.
Clean Driving Record:
Valid CT driver's license and clean background.

$29.00 - $50.00 per hour
