Job Description
- Job Title: HVAC Technician
- Location: Jacksonville, Florida, 32258
- Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4pm
- Pay: $30-32/hourly
- Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical systems within a large commercial facility.
This role is responsible for ensuring the reliable performance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, chilled water, and hot water systems. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, experience working with commercial HVAC equipment, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.
- Key Responsibilities
- + Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC equipment, including air handling units, chillers, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, and associated mechanical systems.
+ Monitor and maintain chilled water and hot water systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
+ Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment according to established schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
+ Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues and complete repairs in a timely manner.
+ Repair and replace motors, belts, bearings, valves, actuators, sensors, and other HVAC components as needed.
+ Respond to service calls and equipment failures to minimize downtime and maintain facility operations.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
+ Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports accurately.
+ Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Required Qualifications
- + 3+ years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
+ Strong knowledge of chilled water and hot water systems.
+ Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and control-related HVAC issues.
+ Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
+ Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
+ Strong preventive maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
+ Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Qualifications
- + EPA Certification. + Experience with building automation systems (BAS) or energy management systems. + Familiarity with chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and large-scale air handling equipment. + Technical trade school certification or HVAC-related training. + Experience in large commercial, industrial, healthcare, manufacturing, or institutional facilities.

- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $30.
00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
