HVAC Service Technician (Commercial & Residential)
Job Summary:
Happy HVAC Solutions is seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Service Technician to join our team in the Atlanta, GA area. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing system issues, servicing, installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioners, heaters, furnaces, air quality, and refrigeration units. Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues. Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and longevity. Conduct inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with safety and industry standards. Diagnose, replace or repair defective parts in HVAC systems. Provide customers with detailed explanations of work performed and recommendations for system improvement or maintenance. Keep accurate records of service calls, parts used, and labor hours. Ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal safety protocols and regulations. Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with clients. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Stay current with industry advancements and best practices.
Qualifications:
Valid HVAC Technician certification and/or relevant licenses - Required. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification preferred. Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or similar role. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and functionality. Proficient in using diagnostic tools, meters, and hand tools. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments (e.g., confined spaces, heights). Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree or technical school training in HVAC systems. EPA certification for handling refrigerants. Experience with both residential and commercial HVAC systems. Knowledge of local HVAC codes and regulations. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Work Environment:
This position requires work in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial environments. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions and at various heights. May require after-hours or weekend work to respond to emergencies.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment and parts. Capability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods. Manual dexterity and coordination.
