Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Helper and be a vital part of delivering comfort and efficiency to commercial spaces. In this energetic role, you will assist skilled technicians in installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mechanical systems, refrigeration, electrical , and building automation while supporting critical infrastructure projects. Whether you're just starting your career or have some construction or service technician background, this role is designed to energize your technical skills and propel you forward in the HVAC industry. Responsibilities Assist in the installation of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems using hand tools and power tools. Support technicians with system repairs, maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting mechanical or electrical issues across various HVAC/R equipment. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to aid in system setup and diagnostics. Help perform electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters to identify faults within electrical systems. Contribute to plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as refrigerant piping or water lines under supervision. Support the repair and maintenance of mechanical systems including boilers, pumps, fans, and ductwork. Assist with building automation systems (BAS) for efficient control of HVAC operations. Ensure all work complies with safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration systems. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials; assist in equipment troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Communicate effectively with team members and clients to support excellent customer service during service calls or installations. Qualifications Construction experience or hands-on mechanical work preferred; eager learners encouraged to apply. Prior service technician experience in HVAC or related fields is a plus. Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, HVAC design concepts, and mechanical systems repair. Knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and HVAC system installation. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools safely. Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units, boilers, ammonia refrigeration systems, and building automation controls. Basic understanding of using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate driver vehicles as needed. EPA certification for handling refrigerants required; additional certifications in . Strong customer service skills with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality workmanship.
