Job Description
Job Overview 5 Star Refrigeration is hiring an experienced Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to service industrial and agricultural refrigeration systems across South Georgia and the Southeast. The right candidate will be safety-focused, dependable, and capable of diagnosing and repairing ammonia refrigeration equipment in operating facilities. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial ammonia refrigeration systems Service compressors, evaporators, condensers, vessels, pumps, valves, controls, and related equipment Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, leak checks, and system troubleshooting Read pressure, temperature, electrical, and control data to identify system problems Support startups, shutdowns, emergency service, and planned maintenance Follow OSHA, PSM/RMP, facility, and company safety procedures Complete service reports and communicate clearly with customers and office staff Travel to customer sites and participate in on-call service as scheduled Qualifications Hands-on ammonia refrigeration service or industrial refrigeration experience Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Working knowledge of ammonia system safety and operating practices Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to work at heights, in mechanical rooms, outdoors, and in cold environments RETA credentials, CIRO/CARO, electrical experience, welding experience, and controls experience are preferred Ability to pass customer site requirements and use required personal protective equipment What We Offer Pay of $35-$45 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Full-time work with an established refrigeration company Opportunities to work on agricultural and industrial refrigeration projects Team support and room for continued technical growth Schedule may include overtime, travel, nights, weekends, and emergency on-call work based on customer needs.
