Residential HVAC ServiceDiagnostic Technician Bay Breeze Heating and Cooling Davidsonville, MD $22-$35 per hour Bay Breeze Heating and Cooling is expanding our service department and looking for an experienced Residential HVAC ServiceDiagnostic Technician who enjoys troubleshooting, solving technical problems, and providing customers with dependable solutions. CompensationSchedule Pay:
$22.00-$35.00 per hour, based on experience, technical ability, performance, and continued training
Regular Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch Technicians participate in a rotating on-call schedule for emergency service coverage. Some evening and weekend availability is required when scheduled. What You'll Be Doing Diagnose residential heating and cooling system problems Complete HVAC repairs and restore equipment to proper operation Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigerant-related issues Service heat pumps, central air conditioners, gas and oil heating equipment, geothermal systems, and related components Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications Properly charge and evaluate refrigeration systems using superheat and subcooling Identify airflow issues and apply basic air-balancing principles Evaluate equipment condition and provide appropriate repair or replacement recommendations Clearly explain findings and available solutions to homeowners Complete service documentation accurately Maintain an organized service vehicle and appropriate parts inventory Communicate technical, inventory, pricing, and training needs to the Service Manager Represent Bay Breeze professionally in customers' homes What We're Looking For 2-3 years of residential HVAC service experience preferred Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability Experience servicing multiple types and brands of residential HVAC equipment Understanding of electrical controls and low-voltage systems Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints Knowledge of refrigeration principles and proper system charging procedures Familiarity with basic sheet metal and airflow practices Ability to evaluate repair options and recognize when equipment replacement should be considered Strong communication and customer-service skills Dependable and capable of working independently in the field Willingness to participate in the rotating on-call schedule CFC/EPA certification - minimum Type I and Type II Willingness to obtain NATE certification and a Low Voltage License within 2 years of employment Interest in continued technical development and increased responsibility Benefits Medical insurance Dental insurance Paid vacation Paid holidays 401(k) with 4% company match Continued technical development Opportunities for advancement and increased responsibility Stable, full-time employment with an established local company Grow Your Service Career With Bay Breeze We're looking for technicians who want to become better at their craft, not simply move from one service call to the next.
