Job Description

Sierra Air is seeking an HVAC Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems around Reno, NV. In this field-based role, you'll perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and equipment replacements while using modern tools and following strict safety standards. You'll interact directly with customers, explaining findings and options clearly, and documenting all work performed. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems Perform preventative maintenance and system tune-ups Install and replace HVAC equipment and components as needed Verify system performance, safety, and code compliance Communicate findings, options, and estimates to customers clearly Document work performed and maintain accurate service records Follow company safety standards and OSHA guidelines Collaborate with team members and dispatch for efficient scheduling Use modern tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot issues Provide professional, courteous on-site customer service Required Skills HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostics Installation and startup of HVAC equipment Brazing, soldering, and basic piping skills Electrical and low-voltage control wiring Reading schematics and technical diagrams Use of digital gauges and diagnostic tools Refrigerant handling and charging Combustion and airflow testing Preventative maintenance procedures Customer communication and documentation
