About the Role We are looking for an experienced HVAC technician who is technically strong, confident in front of homeowners, and knows how to identify opportunities and present solutions without sacrificing the customer experience. The right candidate should be able to walk into a home, thoroughly diagnose the HVAC system, clearly communicate their findings, perform repairs when appropriate, and confidently present repair, upgrade, or replacement options when they are in the customer's best interest. Responsibilities Perform thorough diagnostics on residential heating and cooling systems Troubleshoot and repair a variety of HVAC equipment Complete on the spot repairs when appropriate Perform system start ups and verify proper system operation Identify additional system concerns, comfort issues, indoor air quality needs, and replacement opportunities Clearly explain findings and available options to homeowners Present repairs, upgrades, products, and system replacement options professionally Provide customers with an excellent experience from arrival through completion Complete detailed work orders, findings, photos, and recommendations using an iPad Collect payment at the completion of each job Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked company vehicle Maintain clean and professional workmanship in customers' homes Participate in a rotating on call schedule Represent Lonestar Air Services professionally in the field and in the community Qualifications Minimum 1 year of HVAC service and repair experience Proven success as a residential HVAC Service & Repair Technician Strong sales ability with a history of successfully presenting and closing repair, upgrade, or replacement opportunities EPA certification required Strong diagnostic and technical skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to explain technical information in a way homeowners can understand Must own the necessary hand tools for the position Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Must be able to pass a background check Clean, neat, and professional appearance and workmanship Ability to bend, lift, carry, stoop, crawl, sit, stand, drive, reach overhead, walk, push, pull, and perform fine manipulation throughout the workday Residence within approximately 20 miles of Seguin or New Braunfels preferred Compensation This position offers a competitive hourly base rate plus commission , giving you the stability of hourly pay with the opportunity to significantly increase your earnings based on performance. High performers have the opportunity to earn more through a generous commission structure, with additional opportunities.
