Summary Evaluates and maintains heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems at City facilities using a safe, documented, and responsive approach. Performs on-call services (24/7) on a rotating basis with other Facility Maintenance Staff. Rate of pay is contingent upon current license, certifications, and work experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Installs new HVAC systems (including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment) Performs routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, and replacing filters, coils, and other components Troubleshoots, diagnoses, procures parts, and repairs malfunctioning HVAC and refrigeration equipment Conducts thorough inspections of HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards Documents work performed in the work order management system to include time, service performed, parts used, repairs or installations made, and any observation of future repairs needed Maintains an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and parts, ensures tools are clean and in good working condition Maintains a clean work area, storage areas, and assigned vehicle Coordinates scheduling with outside contractors and works with other employees to meet City need Assist with non-HVAC/refrigeration work orders on an as-needed basis Follows local and national codes, safety regulations, and industry standards for HVAC and refrigeration equipment installation and maintenance Follows city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Five (5) years of experience in maintaining HVAC and refrigeration equipment Preferred Qualifications Experience with Chillers and Boilers Certificates, Licenses, Registrations TDLR Certified/Contractor License EPA 608 Universal Certification for handling refrigerants Valid Driver's License Ice machine certification (preferred) Thank you for your interest in the position.
