Job Title:
Assembly Technician Job Description Join a fast-paced assembly team where you will build and package critical components used in utility pole line equipment. You will work at either the Components Table or the Crossarms Table, performing hands-on assembly tasks with hand and power tools in an industrial manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Assemble components at the Components Table by combining parts such as nuts, bolts, and related hardware according to specified quantities and standards. Count, box, and package assembled components to the required amounts, ensuring accuracy and consistency for each order. Perform repetitive assembly tasks with a high level of focus, attention to detail, and quality, often working independently at the Components Table. Assemble utility crossarms at the Crossarms Table by installing brackets, braces, copper wire, signs, and other hardware onto utility arms. Prepare completed utility arms for shipment by palletizing them in an organized and secure manner for delivery to utility customers. Collaborate as part of a small team of approximately three people at the Crossarms Table to meet production goals and deadlines. Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly to perform mechanical assembly and wiring tasks as required. Follow production instructions, work orders, and safety procedures in an industrial manufacturing environment. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, materials, and equipment. Work overtime as needed to support production schedules and customer demand. Essential Skills Recent warehouse experience, with at least 1-2 months of hands-on work in a warehouse or similar environment. Experience in assembly or production, including basic mechanical assembly tasks. Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively for repetitive assembly work. Ability to use power tools for mechanical assembly and related tasks. General labor experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent quality and attention to detail. Comfort working both independently and as part of a small team. Willingness and ability to work an afternoon shift starting at 3:00 pm with a 30-minute lunch break. Willingness to work overtime when required to meet production needs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Manufacturing experience preferred, especially in an industrial production environment. Experience with wiring tasks in an assembly or production setting is a plus. Familiarity with palletizing completed products for shipment. Comfort working with utility-related products such as pole line equipment or similar hardware. Work Environment This role is based in an industrial manufacturing environment where pole line equipment is produced for major utility companies. You will work around production equipment, hand tools, and power tools, and you will handle metal components, hardware, and utility arms. The shift starts at 3:00 pm and includes a 30-minute lunch break, and you must be comfortable working overtime as production demands require. The setting is typical of an industrial plant, with active production lines, palletizing areas, and warehouse operations, and you will be expected to follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate industrial work attire and protective equipment as required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburg, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
