Young Management & Consulting (YMC) is seeking an experienced Civil/Mechanical Coordinator to support construction activities at utility power plants, renewable energy facilities, substations, and heavy industrial projects. This role is responsible for coordinating daily civil and mechanical field operations, supporting safety-driven execution, ensuring quality compliance, and assisting project leadership in delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. The Civil/Mechanical Coordinator serves as a key liaison between Site Management, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, vendors, and field personnel to ensure civil and mechanical scopes are executed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Leadership & Compliance Promote and maintain a safe, inclusive, and quality-focused work environment across all project activities. Lead by example in supporting company, client, and contractor safety programs and expectations. Perform a minimum of eight (8) STEP safety observations and two (2) CRM observations each month, including providing real-time coaching and feedback to craft personnel. Abide by all OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and site-specific safety procedures. Support implementation and enforcement of T&PS procedures and project safety initiatives. Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), toolbox talks, safety meetings, and contractor orientations. Assist in identifying safety risks, developing mitigation plans, and driving corrective actions in the field. Civil & Mechanical Construction Coordination Coordinate and oversee daily civil and mechanical construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings and specifications. Inspect construction installations for compliance with project requirements, codes, standards, and quality expectations. Ensure Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) are developed, implemented, and followed by contractors and subcontractors. Perform a minimum of four (4) monthly Construction Quality Surveillances (CQS) on active field work. Assist with planning construction sequencing, work packaging, and schedule coordination to support milestone achievement and overall project execution. Monitor installation progress against schedules and support recovery planning when required. Coordinate civil and mechanical activities including but not limited to: Structural steel installation Concrete and foundation work Equipment setting and alignment Piping systems and supports Mechanical equipment installation Pumps, valves, and rotating equipment HVAC systems Heavy rigging and material handling operations Maintain awareness of equipment deliveries, material logistics, transportation schedules, and construction readiness requirements. Support startup, commissioning, turnover, and punch-list activities as required. Quality Assurance & Technical Oversight Ensure all work complies with applicable project plans, specifications, QA/QC procedures, and industry standards. Monitor measurable quantities and installation progress to support project reporting and productivity tracking. Identify construction or installation issues, assist in developing solutions, and ensure corrective actions are implemented in accordance with approved procedures. Support field engineering efforts by coordinating RFIs, drawing clarifications, and field changes. Participate in quality inspections, audits, walk-downs, and turnover documentation reviews. Verify contractor compliance with approved means and methods, work packages, and project procedures. Contractor & Project Support Support Site Management with administration and oversight of construction contracts and contractor performance. Coordinate and participate in meetings including: Pre-bid meetings Pre-mobilization meetings Contractor orientations Daily coordination meetings Progress and status meetings Safety and quality reviews Provide input to Lessons Learned, Best Practices, Risk Assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support Project Change Management processes including scope changes, schedule impacts, and field coordination. Assist in coordinating multiple contractors and craft disciplines working simultaneously within active construction areas. Maintain professional relationships with clients, inspectors, engineers, vendors, contractors, and project stakeholders. Qualifications & Experience Experience supporting civil and/or mechanical construction activities within power generation, renewable energy, utility, industrial, or heavy commercial construction environments. Strong understanding of civil and mechanical construction practices, installation methods, quality standards, and applicable codes.

Working knowledge of:

Structural steel erection Concrete and foundation systems Mechanical equipment installation Piping systems and supports Rigging and heavy equipment operations Industrial construction sequencing and coordination Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and construction safety practices. Familiarity with construction contracts, labor agreements, and contractor management processes.

Ability to read and interpret:

Construction drawings P&IDs Isometric drawings Specifications Schedules Engineering documents Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Self-starter with the ability to work independently in fast-paced construction environments. Ability to interface effectively with contractors, designers, vendors, client representatives, and field personnel. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong computer, documentation, and reporting skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting utility power plants, combined-cycle facilities, substations, renewable energy projects, or battery energy storage systems (BESS). Previous experience in construction coordination, field engineering, QA/QC, or superintendent support roles. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred. Experience with project management and construction tracking software is a plus. Technical degree, construction management background, or related field experience preferred.
