Mechanical Assembly Technician

Job Description

Role Description The Composite Fabrication Technician is responsible for fabricating and assembling primary and secondary composite structures for advanced marine and electromechanical systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, motivated team player with an interest in robotics, manufacturing, and composite fabrication . Experience with open and closed molding, vacuum bagging, material lay-up, and infusion is preferred; however, candidates with basic experience and a willingness to learn will also be considered. This position reports to the Fabrication Supervisor . Key Responsibilities Fabricate and assemble primary and secondary composite structures Use a variety of assembly and testing tools to build sub-systems according to work instructions Assemble structural components and systems Follow established assembly procedures and collaborate with engineers to provide feedback for process improvements Establish and maintain project priorities to meet production schedules Demonstrate initiative by identifying tasks and taking action proactively Read and interpret fabrication drawings and mechanical engineering prints Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure proper care of assigned tools Required Qualifications General mechanical assembly skills Basic carpentry and fitting skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and color differentiation High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to perform active work , including lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods U.S. Citizenship required Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance Possess a valid TWIC card or be able to obtain one Must successfully pass a drug test, background check, and motor vehicle screening Preferred Qualifications Strong hands-on experience using a wide range of tools and production equipment Experience with material lay-up, open and closed molding, vacuum bagging, and infusion processes Comprehensive understanding of composite fabrication principles Marine industry experience is a plus, but not required Resumes to: Dianna Adams Dianna.adams@trscraftservices.com 832.206.8434
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
