  • Job Title: Shop Helper

  • The Shop Helper assembles industrial mechanical and electromechanical safety interlocks used in manufacturing and machine safety applications. This role focuses on precise, small-part assembly, functional testing, and quality documentation while following detailed drawings, work instructions, and established safety and manufacturing procedures.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Assemble mechanical and electromechanical safety interlocks according to engineering drawings and detailed work instructions.

+ Configure key sequences to meet specific customer requirements and application needs.

+ Perform functional testing and quality checks to verify proper operation of assembled safety interlocks.

+ Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment to achieve and maintain tight tolerances.

+ Work accurately with very small pieces and parts in a production and assembly line environment.

+ Complete production and quality documentation thoroughly and accurately.

+ Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures at all times.

+ Communicate assembly or quality issues promptly and collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve them.

+ Read and interpret basic assembly drawings and follow detailed written instructions.

+ Support packing and related production tasks as needed.

+ Maintain reliable, consistent attendance to support production schedules.

+ Perform repetitive tasks with focus and care while maintaining high quality standards.

  • Essential Skills
  • + High school diploma or GED.

+ Ability to perform manufacturing assembly or mechanical tasks; at least 1 year of manufacturing assembly or mechanical experience preferred.

+ Ability to read and understand basic assembly drawings.

+ Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.

+ Comfort working with very small pieces and parts in precision assembly.

+ Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

+ Ability to use measuring equipment to meet tight tolerances.

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in both assembly and documentation.

+ Solid problem-solving skills to identify and address assembly or quality issues.

+ Comfort working in a repetitive, assembly line and packing environment.

+ Reliable attendance and punctuality.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience with precision assembly is a plus.

+ Experience using inspection tools is beneficial.

+ Exposure to safety devices or safety interlock systems is an advantage.

+ Basic mechanical experience preferred but not required.

+ Ability to collaborate effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams.

+ Willingness to learn specialized safety interlock products, including mechanical interlocks, electro-mechanical interlocks, solenoid key release units, time delay key release units, transfer panels, and smart technology.

  • This role operates on a first shift schedule, typically from 7:00 a.

m. to 3:30 p.m., with openness to overtime as production needs require. The work takes place in a manufacturing setting focused on producing safety interlock components for a wide range of industrial applications. The environment involves assembly line work, repetitive tasks, and handling small parts with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment. Employees work around mechanical and electromechanical safety products such as mechanical interlocks, electro-mechanical interlocks, solenoid key release units, time delay key release units, transfer panels, and smart technology, all designed to ensure safe, sequential operations for isolating energy and accessing hazardous areas.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $19.

00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
