STREET DEPARTMENT WORKER GENERAL DESCRIPTION

ASSISTS

WITH STREET MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES THAT INCLUDES GENERAL & PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE ON STREETS, CURBS, SIDEWALKS, DITCHES, DRAINAGE CANALS, CULVERTS, SIGNS, SIGNALS AND OTHER PROJECTS. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

USE

OF POWER TOOLS SUCH AS CHAINSAW, POLE SAW, CONCRETE SAW, POST DRIVER, RECIPROCATING SAW, STRING TRIMMER, JACK HAMMER, HAMMER DRILL AND OTHERS AS NEEDED. MUST BE ON-CALL 1 WEEK EVERY TWO MONTHS OR AS DICTATED BY STAFFING ROTATION. THIS REQUIRES BEING ABLE TO RESPOND WITHIN 30 MINUTES AND REMAIN UNIMPAIRED DURING THE ON-CALL HOURS. DIRECTLY PARTICIPATES IN STREET MAINTENANCE & PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES WITH ALL STREET ASSETS WITH OTHER EMPLOYEES. ASSIST SUPERVISOR WITH INSPECTIONS TO IDENTIFY AREAS OF NEEDED MAINTENANCE, PERFORM EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES INVENTORY, TAKE GENERAL MEASUREMENTS ON CONTRACT WORK PERFORMED, AND CHECK FOR PROPER PPE'S FOR ASSIGNED DAILY DUTIES. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

HIGH

SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT PLUS 2 YEARS RELATED EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING PREFERRED SAFETY/SECURITY SENSITIVE DESIGNATION

THIS

POSITION IS DESIGNATED AS A SAFETY/SECURITY POSITION FOR PURPOSES OF THE ARKANSAS MEDICAL MARIJUANA AMENDMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENINGS.
