General Laborer / Maintenance Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking General Laborer / Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with general labor, construction, maintenance, or related work and be comfortable performing a variety of physical and hands-on tasks. This is a field-based position involving work at various commercial properties and job sites. The General Laborer / Maintenance Assistant will support technicians and other team members with maintenance, repair, construction, and general labor projects while also completing assigned tasks independently when appropriate. Responsibilities may vary from day to day depending on project and site needs. Candidates should be comfortable learning and performing different types of work, following instructions, using tools and equipment safely, and assisting wherever needed to complete the job. The right candidate will be reliable, hardworking, safety-conscious, adaptable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. This position requires travel to various job sites and availability to work nights and weekends when required based on project and job-site needs. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. References required when submitting resume. Responsibilities
  • Assist with general commercial building maintenance, repairs, and construction-related projects
  • Complete basic maintenance and repair tasks independently when assigned
  • Assist with drywall installation, patching, repairs, and preparation
  • Assist with interior and exterior painting, surface preparation, and touch-ups
  • Assist with basic plumbing repairs and fixture replacement
  • Assist with basic carpentry work, including doors, hardware, trim, shelving, and other building components
  • Assist with installation, repair, and replacement of ceiling tiles and grid components
  • Assist with flooring installation and minor flooring repairs
  • Assemble and install commercial fixtures, shelving, equipment, and other components as assigned
  • Perform demolition and removal of materials as required for projects
  • Perform pressure washing and general exterior property maintenance
  • Assist technicians and other team members with commercial remodels, tenant improvements, maintenance, and repair projects
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other equipment appropriate to assigned tasks
  • Load, unload, move, and organize tools, equipment, materials, and supplies
  • Set up and clean up work areas before, during, and after projects
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
  • Properly maintain and care for company tools, equipment, and materials
  • Follow instructions and communicate with supervisors and team members regarding assigned work
  • Travel to various commercial properties and job sites as assigned
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and job-site safety requirements
  • Perform other maintenance, construction, and general labor duties as assigned Qualifications & Requirements
  • 1+ year of general labor, construction, maintenance, or related hands-on experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance tools, materials, and work practices
  • Experience with basic drywall, painting, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, or general building repairs is a plus
  • Ability to complete basic assigned tasks independently when appropriate
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under the direction of technicians, supervisors, and other team members
  • Ability and willingness to learn different maintenance and construction-related tasks
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other equipment appropriate to assigned work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated work areas as required
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry 100+ pounds as required to perform job duties
  • Must be willing and able to travel to various job sites as required
  • Must be willing and available to work nights and weekends when required based on project and job-site needs
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet company driving requirements
  • Must have valid authorization to work in the United States
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and physical examination
  • Must demonstrate dependable attendance, professionalism, and a strong work ethic
