Job Description
Maintenance HelperJob SummaryOur client is seeking a Maintenance Helper to support the maintenance team with general mechanical labor, light equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility upkeep. This role involves assisting with punch presses, laser machines, mills, lathes, air systems, ductwork, and other equipment as directed by supervision.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist the maintenance team with various maintenance projects and assignments.
Support the disassembly and reassembly of machinery and equipment.
Assist with the installation and setup of new machines.
Perform light maintenance tasks, including cleaning, replacing lights, and general facility support.
Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs) and basic mechanical repairs.
Help organize and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or company management.
Qualifications and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED, or 3-5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist with equipment maintenance and repairs.
Ability to read and understand detailed instructions, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
Ability to create or assist with mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and operating procedures.
AWS welding certification is a plus.
Skills and CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to follow instructions and seek clarification when needed.
Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks based on deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively with the maintenance team and other employees.
Good communication skills, including the ability to share information one-on-one and with small groups.
Safety ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Remain aware of departmental safety and health hazards.
Communicate relevant safety concerns and hazards to appropriate personnel.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
Demonstrate safe work practices and contribute to a strong workplace safety culture.
