Requires a high school diploma and at least four (4) years of building maintenance operations experience. Must be familiar with electrical, plumbing, masonry, carpentry and all other trade work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Adhere to work schedules and deadlines for preventive maintenance and repair projects Assist in operations to maintain safety and health standards Perform inspections and maintains facilities, pools and spas Repair, report, and remedy conditions that are deemed hazardous and corrects unsafe physical conditions Perform basic electrical, plumbing, masonry, painting, carpentry and all other trade work Drive to and from MTA facilities and transport equipment and materials to assigned job site Report jobs beyond the Utility Person's capabilities to the Maintenance Manager Recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies, and materials necessary to perform work Respond to situations regarding facility or equipment failures Seek methods to improve the productivity and efficiency of the facilities, pools and spas maintenance and repair Inspect tools and equipment to ensure safe working conditions Store and secure equipment and supplies safely and properly Adhere to MTA's rules, regulations, and policies Continue to develop personal skills through programs, classes, activities, and/or training with the Maintenance Manager's approval Performs all other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge:
Must have the ability to perform routine trade work, select proper tools for specific usage and conditions, as needed and follow oral and written instructions
Education/Experience:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and at least four (4) years of building maintenance operations experience required Familiarity with or knowledge of the principles and practices of general mechanical trades; applicable building codes and ordinances, including electrical and plumbing codes; occupational hazards; and the operation of building and grounds maintenance equipment and tools
