JOB SUMMARY
Provide a safe, clean, orderly, and welcoming school environment through routine custodial, light maintenance, and grounds support.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Knowledge of custodial cleaning methods, safe chemical handling, and basic building maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, follow directions, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with staff and students.
  • Ability to perform physical custodial work, including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting/moving objects as required for the position.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow District safety procedures, Board policy, and chain of command.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY TO
Maintenance/Grounds Supervisor and/or Building Administrator
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, empty trash, replenish supplies, and perform routine cleaning of fixtures and high-touch surfaces.
  • Open/secure assigned areas as directed and promptly report safety concerns, damage, vandalism, or needed repairs.
  • Perform minor maintenance and assist with moving furniture, equipment, event setup, and building preparation.
  • Assist with sidewalks, snow/ice removal, litter removal, and basic seasonal grounds work as assigned.
  • Use custodial supplies, chemicals, tools, and equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturer instructions and District procedures.
  • Maintain assigned custodial areas, closets, supplies, and equipment in an orderly condition.
  • Follow applicable federal and state law, administrative rules, District policy, and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Lift/Carry:
Up to 50 lbs. or 100 lbs. with assistance.
EVALUATION & TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Performance will be evaluated by the appropriate supervisor and/or building administrator in accordance with applicable law, administrative rules, and Board policy. This is an at-will, part-time position. Employment period, schedule, and duties may be adjusted based on District needs.
