Duties:
Assist with maintenance of vehicle fleet, trailer and lawn equipment by replacing worn and faulty parts, disassembling faulty equipment to facilitate repair and reassembling once repairs are completed. Clean and lubricate vehicles, machinery, snow and lawn equipment. Provide tools, materials, and supplies to supervisor, clean work area, machines, and tools. Organize supplies and inventory. The vehicles, machinery, and equipment referenced above include pick-up trucks, a dump truck, utility trailers; lawn mowers (walk-behind, stand-on, and zero-turn); aerators (walk behind and stand on); ride-on spreader/sprayer; string trimmers; stick edgers; hedge trimmers; leaf blowers; chainsaws; snow plows; salt spreaders; and other similar small landscaping equipment. The employee assists supervisor by performing routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and seasonal preparation of company vehicles, trailers, lawn equipment, and snow removal equipment. Duties include washing and cleaning equipment by removing dirt, grass, mud, and debris; changing engine oil on vehicles, lawn mowers, snow blowers, and other small-engine lawn equipment; replacing spark plugs and air filters on gasoline-powered lawn equipment; removing, sharpening and reinstalling mower blades; applying grease with a grease gun to wheel bearings on all trucks, trailers and other equipment; checking tires, lights and fluid levels; inspecting equipment for visible wear or damage; assisting with the installation and removal of snow plows; preparing equipment for seasonal use or storage; and providing tools, materials, and supplies to supervisor. Clean and organize the work area, tools, equipment, and inventory to support maintenance operations. Tools and materials used include pressure washers, basic hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, ratchets, and pliers), pressure washer, hose, cleaning supplies, brushes, shop rags, shop vacuum, grease gun; engine oil and oil filters, coolant, air filters, spark plugs, blade sharpeners. Maintenance helpers will not be assigned any work on diesel engines. No education or prior experience required. On-The-Job training available. Employer will offer 35 hours of work per week, Monday - Friday 8:00 AM until 3:30 PM, depending on weather conditions. Work on Saturdays and Sundays may be required. Workers are needed to begin work on 11/19/2026 through 04/20/2027.
Wage:
$27.43 per hour. Overtime when needed will be paid at $41.15 per hour. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation, at the company's sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill and tenure. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid weekly on Friday by check. The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. At employees' request and employer's discretion, employer may provide employees with an interest-free loan or cash advance prior to the commencement of the work period or during the work period. In this event, the employer may, with written consent and by request of the employee, subtract an amount from the employee's paycheck consistent with both parties' agreed terms of repayment for the loan or cash advance. Employer will assist workers in securing housing but workers will bear cost of rent. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker and/or arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Workers are responsible for daily transportation to and from the designated work location in Worden, IL. Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
