Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and carry out all aspects of the OWL Maintenance Program. To give prompt attention to all written maintenance request forms and to report disposition upon completion of the task to the staff that made the request. Maintain an ongoing inventory of all tools, materials and equipment that have been acquired and assigned to the OWL. Conduct regular, systematic surveys of all buildings, grounds and equipment for the purpose of recommending maintenance, repair and improvements to the OWL facilities. Maintain all landscaping of the OWL properties to assure safety, functionality and present and aesthetically pleasing image. Develop a list of prospective volunteers who are capable of providing various skills needed to assist with maintenance and improvement of the OWL Farm. Assist as needed with duties pertaining to the OWL Farm, including pastures, harvest hay crop, keeping fences cleaned, etc. Assist in development and construction of new projects. To maintain all vehicles and motorized equipment and have them serviced on regular schedule. Obtain necessary training in order to service OWL treatment plant. To perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have mechanical aptitude and rudimentary skills and knowledge in the area of maintenance, agriculture, and animal husbandry.
CHARACTERISTICS
Must have the capacity to observe areas of need, to organize work in a meaningful manner at the same time working cooperatively and through proper channels with the total staff; Must posses a mechanical aptitude in maintenance, operating and caring for farming equipment; Must be skilled in dealing with emergency situations willing to be recalled to handle these situations; Must be able to function as a member of the agency team and be able to give as well as receive direction from others.
EMPLOYMENT PROVISIONS
Time on
Duty:
To be arranged so as best to accomplish the work to be done. To follow a basic office schedule from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with lunch from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m.
Salary:
As provided for in the Annual Budget.
Benefits:
As stated in Personnel Policies and Procedures and determined by the Board of Directors.
