Competitive, based on experience About Us Vineyard Harbor Motel is Martha's Vineyard's only motel with a private beach. For 50 years, we've combined exceptional hospitality with continuous improvements to our property. Today, we're embracing technology to streamline operations and deliver an outstanding guest experience. We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Facilities Lead who takes pride in quality work, communicates well, and enjoys solving problems. Responsibilities Perform general maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the property. Receive, prioritize, complete, and document work orders using our digital ticketing system. Photograph and document completed repairs, ensuring all work is assigned to the correct guest room or common area. Inspect every guest room after checkout before it returns to service to identify maintenance or safety concerns. Check for loose handles, damaged furniture, plumbing leaks, lighting issues, HVAC concerns, paint touch-ups, flooring damage, exposed nails or screws, hazards, broken fixtures, missing amenities, and any other repairs needed. Verify televisions, remotes, streaming devices, and other room equipment are present, functioning properly, and correctly assigned to each room. Coordinate closely with the Housekeeping Department to address maintenance issues discovered during room cleaning and ensure rooms are guest-ready. Perform preventative maintenance inspections to identify and correct small issues before they become larger repairs. Coordinate vendors and oversee on-site projects when needed. Maintain maintenance inventory and assist with purchasing supplies. Help maintain the grounds, private beach, parking areas, and common spaces. Assist with seasonal projects, storm preparation, snow removal, and emergency response. Support Guest Services and Front Desk operations when needed. Participate in team meetings and collaborate with management to improve operations. Qualifications Experience in hotel, condominium, apartment, or general property maintenance preferred. Knowledge of plumbing, painting, carpentry, drywall, basic electrical, and general repair work. Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, email, and digital work-order systems (training provided). Organized, dependable, and able to work independently. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license required (vehicle not required). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Employment contingent upon successful criminal background check. Schedule & Benefits 20-30 hours per week during the off season as the standard schedule. Opportunities for additional on-demand shifts, emergency call-outs, weekend coverage, and special projects throughout the year. For the right candidate, off-season hours may increase to full-time based on operational needs, experience, performance, and demonstrated reliability.
