Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to join our team. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will work closely with the Maintenance Director to assist with the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of the facility, grounds, and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Assist with routine maintenance and repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems Perform basic carpentry, painting, patching, and general building repairs Complete maintenance work orders in a timely and efficient manner Perform routine and preventative maintenance throughout the facility Conduct regular inspections of the building and grounds to identify maintenance and safety concerns Assist with repairs and upkeep of resident rooms and common areas Help maintain the safety and overall appearance of the facility and exterior grounds Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent repair needs Assist with room setups for meetings, activities, and facility events as needed Follow all safety procedures, infection control guidelines, and facility policies Assist with lawn care and seasonal maintenance tasks as needed Help ensure equipment and building systems remain operational and properly maintained Perform additional maintenance-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous maintenance experience preferred Experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, healthcare, or residential setting is a plus Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance Ability to safely operate hand and power tools Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize maintenance needs Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the position Dependable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude are required
