The Lower Heart Water Board is seeking a dependable and skilled Facilities & Levee Maintenance Technician to help us maintain the integrity of our levee system and related facilities. This part-time role is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys hands-on work, appreciates variety in their day, and values serving their community in a meaningful way. Hours will vary based on seasonal needs and weather conditions.

What You'll Do:

You'll work closely with the Lower Heart Water Board and key partners like the Corps of Engineers to: Conduct annual inspections of the levee and confined spaces (manholes) Maintain and operate valves, pumps, and motorized equipment (mower, skid steer, front-end loader, etc.) Patrol the dike for debris and safety concerns Perform seasonal maintenance: mowing, trimming, weeding, snow removal, light repairs, and more Keep accurate inventory and maintenance records Ensure safe, compliant vermin control and pesticide application Maintain a clean and organized shop and work areas

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED Valid North Dakota Driver's License Experience in general maintenance or a related field preferred North Dakota Commercial Applicator's License (or willingness to obtain)

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally Comfortable with confined space entry Vision requirements include near and depth perception Willingness to be on-call during emergencies and weather events
