Job Description

Join the Bexley Recreation Team as a Service Worker! This position will be responsible for custodial and light maintenance work at the Jeffrey Mansion facility. Duties include cleaning, event set up, mechanical troubleshooting, and other related work. Regular hours are 6:00a - 2:30p, with overtime opportunities available. Under the direction of the supervisor, services City grounds, facilities, parks, buildings, installations, and/or other City property, as assigned. Performs routine maintenance, upkeep, cleaning, and repairs of assigned grounds, facilities, parks, buildings, and/or other City property as assigned by supervisor Completes inspections of City property and makes routine repairs when necessary Assists with event set up and clean up as assigned, including furniture, barricades, equipment, waste receptacles, and other items as assigned. Assists with other projects and duties, as assigned High school graduate or GED 18 years of age or older Valid Ohio Drivers License with ability to be insured under the City's fleet policy Ability to pass a background check Ability to pass a drug screen Predictable and reliable attendance
Knowledge of:
Basic maintenance procedures for assigned City property Basic mechanical troubleshooting
Skilled In:
Routine cleaning and upkeep tasks Routine inspections for maintenance and damage Identifying maintenance, cleanliness, or repair issues Reading and interpreting mechanical instructions, diagrams, safety rules, and reports Ability to: Drive a City-owned vehicle to various locations Prioritize work and complete tasks independently Carry out instructions provided in written or oral format Write routine reports Speak effectively before residents or employees of the City
