THE POSITION

The Park Maintenance Worker position with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources offers a chance to support the care of important historical and natural spaces. This role allows you to work with your hands, stay active, and see the results of your efforts each day. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on construction, repair work, grounds upkeep, and general building maintenance throughout Washington Crossing Historical Park. It involves hands-on tasks using a wide range of tools and equipment to support daily park operations. As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:

Building Repairs:

Perform basic repairs to park buildings and facilities using tools from multiple trades\n

Equipment Care:

Operate and assist in the cleaning and maintenance of park vehicles and equipment\n

Grounds Maintenance:

Carry out mowing, trimming, planting, and general outdoor upkeep across the park\n

Cement Work:

Build simple forms, mix and place cement, and assist with stone and block wall tasks\n

Painting Duties:

Apply paint or stain to buildings, signs, gates, and other park structures\n

Housekeeping Tasks:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027.\nWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.\nThis position may require overtime and travel.\n

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
