This position plays an important role in ensuring the safety of our residents while supporting the overall operations of our facility. Position Summary The Driver / Maintenance Assistant is responsible for providing safe transportation for residents to medical appointments and community outings, while assisting the Maintenance Department with routine building and grounds maintenance when transportation duties are not required. Essential Responsibilities Driver Duties Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, dialysis, hospital visits, and scheduled outings. Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle safely. Maintain accurate transportation logs and mileage records. Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns. Ensure vehicles remain clean, fueled, and ready for use. Follow all traffic laws and facility safety policies. Maintenance Duties Assist with routine building repairs and preventative maintenance. Perform basic painting, carpentry, and minor plumbing or electrical repairs as directed. Help maintain a clean, safe, and attractive environment inside and outside the facility. Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and seasonal grounds maintenance. Move furniture and equipment as needed. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to safely operate passenger vans. Experience in maintenance, facilities, or a related trade preferred. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work. Dependable, organized, and able to work independently. Experience working with older adults or in healthcare is a plus.
