What You Will Do:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused General Maintenance Technician / Laborer to support operations at the Formosa Plastics facility in Port Lavaca, Texas. This role is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, and labor tasks to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment, buildings, and grounds. Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and minor mechanical work. Assist with preventive maintenance tasks and troubleshooting equipment issues. Support facility housekeeping, material handling, and waste management activities. Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hazardous material handling procedures. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to minimize downtime and maintain compliance. Complete work orders and maintain accurate records of tasks performed. Perform other duties as assigned to support plant reliability and production goals. What You Will Need (minimum qualifications): High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or certification preferred). Active TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card is required. Prior experience in industrial maintenance, general labor, or manufacturing environment preferred. Prior experience at Formosa Plastics is a plus. Ability to work safely in a chemical manufacturing / industrial setting. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand/power tools. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders/stairs, and work in varying weather conditions. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Experience with industrial equipment maintenance (pumps, conveyors, valves, etc.). Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, or welding skills. Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Ability to effectively communicate and understand English. Valid driver's license.
