If so, the Utah Department of Corrections is looking for a Journey Maintenance/Carpenter, to perform the following responsibilities: Make repairs to or complete jobs in the following trades. Woodworking/Cabinetry Drywall repair Painting Flooring
- Commercial carpet squares and tiles Roof repair Windows Overhead doors Operates, maintains, calibrates, and adjusts specialized equipment.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, makes adjustments, repairs, and/or performs preventative maintenance on vehicles, equipment, machinery, etc. Maintains accurate records and logs. Carpentry duties could also include helping with grounds work including mowing and snow removal. May be subject to 24/7 emergency call out This position is NOT public safety certified and does not require peace officer status or certification. Qualifications Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: maintain and/or repair tools and equipment principles and practices of facilities operations, maintenance, and management speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally arrange, coordinate, or schedule time and details agency objectives, organization, structure and mission run, maneuver, navigate, or drive vehicles or mechanized equipment find, gather and collect information or data operate applicable specialized equipment establish, organize and/or maintain files Supplemental Information Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time. valid driver license required to drive a motor vehicle on a highway in this state per
