Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Maintenance Lead for hotel facilities maintenance operations. In this vital role, you will oversee all aspects of maintenance, ensuring that the building systems, mechanical equipment, and infrastructure operate smoothly, efficiently, and safely. Your leadership will drive a proactive maintenance culture, uphold safety standards, and work with a team to deliver exceptional guest experiences through well-maintained facilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise and management skills in a fast-paced hospitality environment dedicated to excellence. This role requires hands-on involvement, including manual labor, and offers an opportunity for a skilled professional with trade certification (preferred) to make a significant impact. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential, as you will frequently interact with both guests and team members to ensure a seamless and positive experience for all.
Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate with other departments Meet guest needs, and provide true hospitality Maintain interior and exterior facilities including but not limited to repair of: paint, drywall, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electrical, mechanical, flooring, pool/spa, commercial refrigerator/freezers, commerical ovens, and groundskeeping. Hang and install fixtures, filters, and other furniture or equipment. Clean and service PTAC units systematically, on schedule. Maintain pool, grounds, parking lot, carport, and exterior façade according to quality standards. Ensure quality is in "like new" condition and not "repaired" condition Remain up to date on all relevant building codes, safety regulations and standards Advance knowledge and ability to troubleshoot Hotel systems including IT rooms, Server equipment, PMS, POS, PBX, GPNS/Wi-fi, Office Workstations, Printers, etc. Ensure the hotel complies with local, state and federal regulations Complete all brand required training and certifications Maintain all brand standards and company policy Complete all PMs and required documentation on time Perform consistent property walks Perform systematic top-to-bottom maintenance/functionality room inspections, including the monitor and prevention of corrosion Identify, report and anticipate problems, repairs, and replacement needs to General Manager Responsible for maintaining key control policies, practices and safety procedures at all times Ensure guests experience
AUTHENTIC HOSPITALITY
Greet and assist guests as needed; ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction Fulfill all maintenance requests swiftly to efficiently resolve guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction Work closely with management to plan and execute special projects Recommend and follow timelines Train new hires Cross train across departments to ensure staff are equipped to handle or assist in routine maintenance issues or emergencies Support other departments Participate in departmental meetings, including housekeeping meetings Upskill, teach and mentor technicians Create and generate ideas to solve problems Maintain neat and accurate records Preserve and maximize resources; reduce waste Manage department receiving Manage inventory counts. Maintain, replenish, stock, and organize inventory Provide General Manager with lists of items needed to order Document accomplishments and incidents using detailed logs Provide excellent communication to ensure all aspects of the job are seamlessly executed. Maintain and repair or overhaul tools, equipment and machinery; inspect products Maintain safe, neat, tidy, organized and efficient workspaces at all times Create perimeters and signage around work areas to enhance guest safety and experience Ensure all associates use personal protective equipment and are supplied appropriate PPE as needed Follow procedures for the safe use and storage of chemicals Understand and practice basic sanitization and disease prevention protocols Supervise outside and contract labor Assist with bids and vendor/outside contractor communication Maintain progress report and project status records Availability to address emergencies outside scheduled hours Assist in storm preparation and recover efforts Perform other duties assigned by management and ownership as directed
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven management experience in facilities or industrial maintenance with a strong background in supervising teams. Extensive mechanical knowledge including HVAC system repair, electrical systems (including high voltage), plumbing system maintenance and repair, and industrial maintenance procedures. Proficiency in using schematics, Ohmmeters, multimeters, and other troubleshooting tools for engineering diagnostics. Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and experience implementing safety protocols within a facilities environment. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination. Experience with maintenance software for work order management is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes. Knowledge of basic IT management Ability to interpret technical schematics related to electrical systems, HVAC units, plumbing configurations, and mechanical systems repair procedures.
PHYSICAL REQURIEMENTS
Manual labor and heavy lifting required. Must have the ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours.
LANGUAGE
Good command of the English language, both written and verbal, to work with guests, employees, vendors and executives, and to perform essential duties. Bi-lingual preferred.
ENVIRONMENT
The noise level is usually moderate to noisy, with occasional loud noises in keeping with the hospitality and maintenance industry. The work is both indoor and outdoor.
