buford, georgia Posted 1 day ago Closes 10/24/2026 Job details Summary Spherion $65,000 - $70,000 per year Permanent 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Industry manufacturing & production (Production Occupations) Reference number S_179585 Job Objective The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment operating across three shifts. This position ensures maintenance resources, materials, tools, and equipment are available to support safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. The Maintenance Planner works closely with maintenance technicians, production leadership, engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
Responsibilities:
... ? Develop and maintain weekly and monthly maintenance schedules for production and facility equipment. ? Plan preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), and corrective maintenance activities. ? Prioritize work orders based on equipment criticality, production requirements, safety, and operational impact. ? Coordinate maintenance activities across all three shifts to optimize resource utilization and equipment uptime. ? Schedule planned downtime and shutdown activities in collaboration with production leadership. Work Order Management ? Review, prioritize, and manage maintenance work requests within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). ? Create detailed job plans, including labor requirements, estimated hours, tools, materials, and safety procedures. ? Ensure work orders contain complete and accurate information prior to execution. ? Monitor work order backlogs and drive timely completion of maintenance activities. ? Track and report maintenance performance metrics. Parts & Materials Coordination ? Coordinate with storeroom personnel and purchasing teams to ensure availability of spare parts and materials. ? Maintain and optimize critical spare parts inventory levels. ? Identify obsolete inventory and opportunities for inventory cost reduction. ? Work with vendors and suppliers to source specialized repair parts and services. ? Support receiving and verification of maintenance-related materials and equipment. Reliability & Continuous Improvement ? Support reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives and equipment improvement projects. ? Analyze equipment failure trends and maintenance history to improve reliability. ? Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action activities for equipment failures. ? Recommend maintenance process improvements to increase equipment effectiveness and reduce downtime. ? Support Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and continuous improvement initiatives. Compliance & Safety ? Ensure maintenance plans comply with company safety standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental guidelines. ? Incorporate lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and other safety requirements into maintenance job plans. ? Maintain documentation required for audits, inspections, and compliance activities. ? Support
ISO, IATF
16949, and other automotive manufacturing standards. ? Promote a strong safety culture throughout maintenance operations.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing, or related field preferred. ? Experience using CMMS platforms such as SAP PM, Maximo, Fiix, MP2, or similar systems. ?
