$68,500.00 - $75,000.00 per year Job DescriptionThe Job in 3 Lines Lead railroad track maintenance and construction crews to safely complete track installation, repair, and rehabilitation projects while meeting FRA and customer standards. Plan daily work, conduct job briefings, oversee equipment and crew performance, and ensure every project is completed safely, on time, and with exceptional quality. You have extensive hands-on experience in railroad track construction or maintenance and can confidently oversee projects involving rail replacement, tie installation, turnouts, crossings, surfacing, ballast work, and emergency repairs while ensuring full FRA compliance. You've successfully led field crews, coordinated daily work assignments, enforced safety procedures, and maintained production schedules in a fast-paced railroad or heavy civil construction environment. You thrive working outdoors in all weather conditions, are comfortable traveling to project sites, responding to emergency callouts, and leading by example through hard work and sound decision-making. In two years, you see yourself advancing into a Superintendent, General Foreman, or Project Manager role. Minimum five (5) years of railroad track construction or maintenance experience. Minimum one (1) year of crew leadership, foreman, or supervisory experience. Thorough knowledge of railroad track structure, maintenance practices, and construction methods. Working knowledge of FRA Track Safety Standards and railroad operating rules. Experience operating or supervising railroad maintenance equipment including tampers, regulators, excavators, loaders, and other production equipment. Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and project specifications. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to travel as required and work overtime, nights, weekends, and emergency callouts. Ability to successfully pass all required background screenings, drug testing, and railroad certification requirements. Preferred Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) certification OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Safety certification First Aid/CPR certification Experience with Class I railroads or railroad contractors Experience managing production track gangs and large-scale rehabilitation projects Pay & Perks Salaried position: $68,500 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience Performance-based pay increases Clear advancement opportunities into Superintendent and Operations leadership positions Health Insurance Paid Time Off Relocation Assistance (where applicable) Ongoing leadership development and technical training

Railroad Track Construction/Maintenance:

Crew Leadership or Foreman Experience:
1 year (Required) License/Certification Valid Driver's License (Required) Commercial Driver's License (Preferred) Roadway Worker Protection (Preferred) Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and front loader trucks in a construction or civil infrastructure environment. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation with mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting basic issues. Construction site experience with a focus on highway maintenance or utility locating projects. Familiarity with FMCSA regulations governing commercial vehicle operation and safety protocols. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently in demanding outdoor conditions. Prior experience working on construction projects within a civil infrastructure or railway setting is highly desirable.
