Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department with energy and enthusiasm. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive profitable growth through effective management of service technicians, parts, and customer relationships. Your leadership will inspire a high-performing team dedicated to delivering top-quality automotive repairs and maintenance. Duties Lead and motivate the service department team to achieve high levels of productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Oversee daily shop operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control of automotive repairs such as transmissions, brake repair, oil changes, alignments, suspension work, tire services, gasoline ¨sel engine repairs, shocks & struts, and air brake systems. Ensure accurate and thorough service writing and auto estimating to provide transparent quotes and detailed repair orders for customers. Manage upselling opportunities by recommending additional services that meet customer needs while enhancing dealership revenue. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and industry standards for vehicle maintenance and repair procedures. Handle customer inquiries professionally, resolve complaints promptly, and foster long-term relationships built on trust and transparency. Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies to ensure timely service delivery while controlling costs. Oversee cash handling procedures and administrative tasks related to service operations. Stay current with automotive diagnostics technology and industry trends to continually improve service quality. Experience Proven dealership or independent shop experience with a strong background in auto service management or automotive repair supervision is preferred Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, alignments, tire services, gasoline & diesel engines, shocks & struts, and air brakes. Hands-on experience as a service technician or mechanic is highly desirable to understand technical challenges firsthand. Demonstrated success in upselling services and managing auto estimating processes effectively. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Familiarity with automotive repair software and service writing tools. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate a team while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while managing multiple priorities in a busy environment.
