Job Description

Role Summary We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our heavy industrial manufacturing facility in Dunkirk, NY. In this position, you will oversee front-line maintenance staff, ensuring that production uptime, safety, and equipment reliability remain at the highest possible standards. You will be tasked with guiding the daily activities of your team, managing both planned and emergency maintenance tasks, and spearheading initiatives to improve facility operations. Core Responsibilities Maintenance Leadership Oversee and guide the daily operations of the maintenance technician team. Organize and rank the importance of preventive and reactive repair tasks. Collaborate with operations staff to schedule maintenance and reduce production interruptions. Foster professional growth among technicians by providing consistent coaching and training. Reliability & Troubleshooting Analyze equipment breakdowns to determine and execute effective solutions. Conduct root cause investigations to help eliminate repeat equipment failures. Track machine performance metrics to uncover potential areas for optimization. Contribute to facility-wide efforts aimed at boosting equipment reliability and uptime. Planning & Execution Procure necessary spare parts and repair materials for ongoing tasks. Help organize maintenance schedules and major facility shutdowns. Assist in the execution of infrastructure upgrades and capital projects. Evaluate historical equipment data to advise on future replacement or repair strategies. Safety & Continuous Improvement Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring full adherence to quality, safety, and environmental protocols. Encourage a culture of cleanliness and 5S organization throughout the maintenance area. Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by keeping facilities in top condition. Lead initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance processes. Required Qualifications Completion of high school or an equivalent educational program. Minimum of five years of experience leading maintenance teams within heavy industrial manufacturing. Proven expertise in troubleshooting electrical systems. Background in maintaining production systems, industrial utilities, and heavy machinery. Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting technical schematics and blueprints. Strong analytical capabilities for effective problem-solving and decision-making. Preferred Qualifications Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Background in heavy industries such as mining, steel, metals, chemical, paper, or cement. Practical knowledge of high-voltage power distribution. Experience working with industrial controls, drives, and PLCs. Familiarity with modern preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies. Technical Proficiencies Expertise in diagnosing and fixing PLC issues. Ability to perform motor maintenance, repairs, and replacements. Competency in managing high-voltage electrical systems. Skill in interpreting complex technical blueprints.
