Job Overview Lead One of America's Premier Fleet Maintenance Teams Walmart Private Fleet is seeking an experienced Area Manager - Service Shop (Transportation) to lead maintenance operations at our Marcy, NY Transportation Facility. This leadership role is responsible for managing a team of skilled diesel technicians, ensuring fleet readiness, promoting a culture of safety, and delivering operational excellence. If you are a proven maintenance leader with diesel shop, transportation, or fleet management experience and are ready to take the next step in your career, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities Lead, develop, coach, and mentor a team of diesel technicians Oversee preventive maintenance and repair activities for Walmart's private fleet of tractors and trailers Ensure compliance with DOT, company, and safety regulations Drive shop productivity, quality, and operational performance Manage technician scheduling and workforce planning Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset Monitor maintenance metrics and implement corrective actions when needed Partner with operations, transportation, safety, and human resources teams to achieve business goals Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of leadership experience in a diesel maintenance shop, fleet maintenance operation, or transportation environment Experience supervising technicians or maintenance teams Knowledge of diesel equipment, preventive maintenance programs, and fleet operations Understanding of DOT regulations and compliance requirements Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills Ability to lead in a fast-paced, results-driven environment This role is perfect for energetic leaders who thrive on strategic thinking, operational excellence, and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment. Pay:
$80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
