Position Building Assistant Head Custodian (2nd Shift) Effective Date Immediately Education High School Diploma or equivalent Salary $23.87/hr. /

Full Benefit Package Physical Demands:

Stands, walks, climb stairs and ladders most of the day. Stoops, crouches, pushes, and pulls equipment. Lifts medium weights (50 lbs.). Some occasional heavy lifting.

Essential Functions:

Performs routine housekeeping duties: clean corridors, classrooms, restrooms, cafeteria, kitchen, and other cleaning chores as outlined in the custodial cleaning handbook and/or by the immediate supervisor. Works in conjunction with the custodial supervisor in overseeing the custodial staff. This work includes but is not limited to completing, writing, and assigning work orders. Ensuring building readiness for outside groups and activities. Checking performance of custodial staff to ensure district standards are being met. Time tracking of custodial staff and making sure is completing assigned work. Look for potential areas for building improvements. Address staff issues with Custodial Supervisor and Director of Facilities. Plan and execute summer cleaning procedures. Cover day-to-day issues with building administration. Check building management system to ensure temperature needs and schedules are set for activities. Monitor and report supply usage and needs. Learn and utilize basic building systems and how they operate.

Performs heavy service work:

moves and transports all types of furniture, machinery, supplies, and other equipment. May operate several kinds of electrical and gas-powered equipment: e.g. vacuum cleaners, buffer, floor stripper, carpet cleaning machines, and lawn mowers, in the major cleaning of building and grounds.
