Maintenance Operations Manager Longs, SC | Full-Time | Reports to Branch Manager PureGreen is looking for an experienced and driven Maintenance Operations Manager to lead our Landscape Maintenance Division. This role is responsible for the people, performance, and day-to-day execution of maintenance operations while ensuring our teams deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality service. ROLE SUMMARY
The Maintenance Operations Manager leads the Landscape Maintenance Division, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to PureGreen quality standards. This position oversees Field Managers and maintenance teams while working closely with the Branch Manager, Account Managers, and Sales to support customer expectations and divisional performance. The Maintenance Operations Manager owns the daily, weekly, and seasonal execution of maintenance operations and plays a key role in staffing, scheduling, budgeting, production efficiency, quality, and leadership development. This role is ideal for an experienced landscape operations leader who can balance people, production, and financial performance while building a strong and accountable team.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Development
Directly manage and develop Field Managers while providing leadership across the Maintenance Division
Coach and develop leaders and team members to support continued growth and advancement
Ensure proper staffing levels and crew readiness across maintenance operations
Forecast seasonal labor needs and communicate staffing requirements with the Branch Manager
Maintain a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and performance
Set clear expectations and hold leaders accountable for operational results Operations & Scheduling
Oversee daily and weekly route scheduling to optimize efficiency, productivity, and crew balance
Ensure routine maintenance and enhancement work is completed on schedule and to PureGreen quality standards
Coordinate new property start-ups, including crew preparation, service expectations, and route scheduling
Adjust service execution in response to weather, seasonal changes, staffing fluctuations, and operational needs
Ensure accurate and timely close-out of Maintenance Division work tickets
Monitor Aspire service-line data and support daily operational and administrative workflows Budgeting, KPIs & Performance
Manage the Maintenance Division budget including labor, materials, and equipment
Monitor and manage key performance indicators including gross margin, overtime, labor efficiency, and cost control
Review job costing, production efficiency, and service-line profitability
Lead daily, weekly, and monthly labor and revenue tracking
Identify performance trends and implement solutions to improve divisional results
Maintain a strong understanding of operational performance and communicate results to branch leadership Collaboration & Execution
Partner with Account Managers to ensure field execution of contracted services, issue corrections, and enhancements
Drive consistent service quality and operational execution across all maintenance crews
Serve as the primary operations liaison between the Branch Manager, Account Managers, Sales, and field teams
Ensure customer concerns and operational issues are communicated and addressed promptly
Coordinate the documentation, reporting, and removal or replacement of dead plant material on properties installed by PureGreen's Landscape Installation Division Safety & Equipment Management
Enforce safe work practices and compliance with company safety policies and procedures
Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the Maintenance Division
Oversee the readiness and proper care of division vehicles, trailers, equipment, and hand tools
Coordinate equipment and vehicle needs with the Branch Manager
Ensure teams have the equipment and resources necessary to perform their work safely and efficiently
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
3-5+ years of experience in commercial landscape maintenance, landscape management, or operations leadership
Previous experience managing leaders and multiple field crews
Strong understanding of commercial landscape maintenance operations, scheduling, production, and quality standards
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable
Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal, written, and professional communication skills
Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions under tight deadlines
Strong working knowledge of spreadsheets, including Microsoft Excel
Experience with landscape management software such as Aspire preferred
Understanding of job costing, labor management, budgeting, and operational KPIs
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to successfully complete required background and drug screening
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to regularly travel between commercial properties and job sites
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while conducting field inspections
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to perform physical activities including bending, kneeling, lifting, and reaching as needed
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds as needed
