Lead 1 - Maintenance Technician - 2795 Under supervision, coordinates, leads, and performs activities related to maintaining, rebuilding, and repairing a wide variety of production or processing machines and equipment within the facility. Job Duties Perform complex tasks related to set-up, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, which includes developing and maintaining efficient techniques for troubleshooting and equipment repair to minimize downtime. Assist in operating machinery for multiple departments if needed. Inspect materials, final products, and machinery for defects. Lead and support continuous improvement projects identified by department manager. Supervise maintenance and repair work, including determining required replacement parts, on punch presses, drill presses, lathes, screw machines, milling machines, grinders, pumps, compressors, die-casting machines, hydraulic presses, molding machines, conveyors, rolling mills, mixers, stamping machines, and similar standard or specially designed equipment and auxiliary mechanisms. Report defective equipment and recommend the replacement of obsolete or damaged equipment when estimates of repair cost are excessive. Coordinate the day-to-day operations of maintenance department personnel assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, directing efforts, and providing technical guidance on more complex issues to diagnose and remedy difficult problems. Interact with production supervisor and lead personnel to prioritize and expedite repairs to meet production demands. Train new maintenance personnel in procedures, preventive maintenance, and all other departmental activities; provide guidance to departmental personnel as first responder to questions that arise during performance of their duties. Ensure that departments' output meets organizational expectation. Guide the manufacturing/operations team in interpreting existing processes and policies and assist in the development of efficiencies or process improvements. Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately. Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.) Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, and procedures.
