Job Summary We are seeking a energetic and experienced Service Manager to lead our automotive service department with enthusiasm and expertise. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive the success of our service team. Duties Lead and manage the service department to deliver outstanding automotive repairs and maintenance services. Supervise service technicians, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality procedures, and productivity goals. Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and inspections across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspension, oil changes, tire services, shocks & struts, air brakes, and collision repairs. Utilize estimating software to prepare accurate repair estimates and facilitate effective upselling of additional services. Maintain strong client communication by explaining repair needs clearly and providing excellent customer service throughout the service process. Manage service writing tasks efficiently while ensuring all work orders are completed accurately and promptly. Handle cash transactions responsibly and maintain detailed records of all financial activities related to the service department. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by coaching staff on automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and sales techniques such as upselling. Ensure compliance with dealership policies and industry standards for automotive repair and customer care. Requirements Proven experience in auto service management or a similar leadership role within an automotive dealership or repair shop. Strong mechanic experience with comprehensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics and repairs including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts, air brakes, collision repair, and oil changes. Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Demonstrated ability in auto estimating and sales techniques to maximize revenue through upselling additional services. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience as a service technician or in automotive repair is highly preferred. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining detailed records. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
