High-End Landscape Maintenance Crew Lead-Snohomish, WA

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader with strong horticulture knowledge and best practices for the Pacific Northwest plant palate to manage a production crew on a high-end commercial property in North Seattle. This position completes a variety of general landscaping tasks on high end properties. Qualified candidates have an impeccable eye for detail and solid understanding of trends and best practices within high-end garden management. The right candidate for this position will have a comprehensive understanding of correct horticultural practice to implement proper pruning techniques, turf care, and ornamental plant maintenance in very unique and elaborately landscaped gardens. Duties Include:
Work with the Property Account Manager to understand client expectations and specific tasks for all sites. Develop a working knowledge of each property, its maintenance and plant care needs and manage the monthly rotations to ensure proper care for the entire property. Maintain detailed landscape designs with unique plant materials. Successfully install and maintain seasonal plant installations. Provide high-quality pruning for botanical garden level plant material.
  • Daily task management for yourself and a production team of 3-6 landscapers tending to cleint gardens, including weeding, mulch installation, pruning, turf care, and pathways with an emphasis on entrances and focal points throughout the property.
  • Responsible for identifying problems on the property and communicating problems to supervisor (i.e. plants in distress, non-functioning irrigation, lighting issues)
  • Safely operate all landscape maintenance equipment in accordance with state and federal laws.
Train crew members safe operation of equipment. Conduct safety checks of trucks and trailers before leaving yard. Supervise and assist crew members with loading and unloading lawn equipment, soils, mulch, and tools needed for each day. Drive truck and trailer. Complete all required daily job site and crew documentation accurately. Wear uniforms provided and present a professional appearance. Report to work on time every day.
Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience as a Maintenance Crew Leader. A Landscape/Ornamental Horticulture may be substituted for experience. Must be able to follow very detailed directions and work under strict guidelines and timelines Ability to lead others and to delegate tasks Conscientious and professional demeanor when interacting with coworkers, clients, and the community Common PNW plant identification Pruning techniques for plants growing in the PNW Natural/selective pruning techniques are a requirement Demonstrated knowledge of Japanese Maple, bonsai, or other specimen plantings is a plus Proper planting, soil building, mulching, and watering techniques Must be able to see and identify problems on the property and communicate problems to supervisor (i.e. plants in distress, non-functioning irrigation, lighting issues) Knowledge and use of mowers and 2-cycle equipment Ability to articulate ideas well, use a computer and cell phone as needed Must be able to work in all weather conditions Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more repeatedly Must have a positive and upbeat personality Must speak English (bilingual is a plus) This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only activities to be performed by the individual occupying this position. Pay:
$25.00 - $31.00 per hour
