Overview We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support landfill and solid waste operations in Winter Haven, FL. This position is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on mechanical equipment and systems used in landfill operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial maintenance, equipment maintenance and repair, pumps, motors, piping, preventative maintenance, and mechanical troubleshooting. Experience with diesel equipment, heavy equipment, solid waste, landfill, environmental systems, or related industrial equipment is strongly preferred. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a starting pay rate of $24.66 per hour. Duties Perform maintenance and repair work on mechanical equipment used in landfill and solid waste operations. Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment issues. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, compressors, valves, piping, and related equipment. Assist with maintenance and repair of diesel and/or gasoline-powered landfill equipment and vehicles. Perform basic preventative maintenance, including oil changes, filter changes, lubrication, and equipment inspections. Maintain and repair equipment associated with leachate management systems, including pumps, check valves, floats, level transducers, flow meters, air compressors, and related components. Monitor control panels and equipment operation to ensure systems are functioning properly. Review and record system data such as flows, alarms, sump depths, and load-out volumes. Use computer-based systems, including SCADA, to assist with operation and troubleshooting of landfill systems. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and preventative maintenance performed. Read and use repair manuals, diagrams, drawings, blueprints, and preventative maintenance lists as needed. Use hand tools, air tools, power tools, and related shop equipment safely. Work with site contractors, consultants, vendors, and other staff as needed. Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions. Perform other related maintenance and repair duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of three years of maintenance experience or equivalent vocational training required. Valid driver's license required; must be able to obtain a valid Florida driver's license at time of employment. Experience with industrial maintenance, equipment maintenance, equipment repair, preventative maintenance, pumps, motors, piping, or mechanical troubleshooting required. Experience with diesel equipment, heavy equipment, landfill equipment, solid waste, environmental systems, compressors, welding, or utility/wastewater systems preferred. Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment. Ability to read and understand repair manuals, diagrams, drawings, and maintenance instructions. Ability to use hand tools, air-driven tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers, vendors, contractors, and other departments. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to use good judgment and make independent decisions while completing assigned work. Must be able to pass all required background screening, drug screening, and onboarding requirements. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, carry, and handle up to 45 pounds. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, push, pull, crawl, climb ladders, and work on uneven surfaces. Must be comfortable working outdoors in landfill conditions, including heat, cold, wet weather, odors, and other environmental conditions. Must be able to work in cramped or uncomfortable positions as needed. Must be able to safely work around machinery, vehicles, equipment, tools, and landfill disposal areas.

Starting at $24.66 per hour Full-time schedule May be required to report to work during declared emergencies
