Job Description

Mid-States Millwright & Builders is looking for an experienced Millwright Lead to oversee field operations and lead crews. In this role, you'll lead Millwright I and II team members, coordinate subcontractors, work directly with Project Managers, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to our high standards of quality. If you're a hands-on leader who enjoys solving problems, developing others, and taking ownership of projects, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do Lead Millwright I and II employees on repair, maintenance (R&M), and construction projects. Serve as the acting site leader on smaller projects or fill in for Site Superintendents as needed. Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. Work closely with Project Managers, Safety, Operations, Sales, and Drafting teams to execute project plans. Build strong relationships with customers and serve as the primary on-site point of contact. Manage project milestones to keep work on schedule and within budget. Ensure all work meets Mid-States quality standards and customer specifications. Train, mentor, and develop field employees in proper installation techniques and safe work practices. Monitor job progress and communicate updates, schedule changes, and project needs to the Project Manager. Complete daily Acumatica (ERP System) Field Reports, including labor tracking, progress photos, and project updates. Conduct and document weekly toolbox talks. Complete all required OSHA, customer, and company safety documentation, including: Job Safety Analyses Equipment inspection/sign-out forms Daily safety documentation Manage project-related administrative responsibilities, including purchase orders, and field reporting. Complete project punch lists and participate in final walkthroughs with customers and subcontractors. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, ownership, and professionalism on every job site. Qualifications Required 5+ years of millwright, agricultural construction, or related field experience Previous experience leading crews or supervising field operations Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications Strong leadership and communication skills Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to travel extensively Preferred Experience coordinating subcontractors OSHA training or additional safety certifications Experience using Acumatica Benefits & Perks Competitive pay based on experience 100% company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Profit-sharing program Paid time off and paid holidays Daily per diem while traveling Monthly cell phone stipend Company-provided PPE and safety equipment Ongoing training and career development
