Job Description

Description:
KDS Windsor , a national leader in building industry-leading projects, is seeking an experienced Field Superintendent . In this role, you will oversee the installation of lumber drying kilns, wood waste heat plants, and material handling systems across the United States. As the on-site leader, you will oversee company employees, subcontractors, and customer resources to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. Project durations vary from a few days to several months depending on scope and complexity. Typical projects include new kiln installations, major equipment upgrades, industrial mechanical systems, and material handling projects.

  • Lead field installation teams on industrial construction projects.
  • Coordinate company crews, subcontractors, customers, and vendors.
  • Manage project safety, quality, schedule, and productivity.
  • Review installation drawings and ensure work is completed correctly.
  • Plan manpower, equipment, and site activities.
  • Conduct site visits during planning and construction phases.
  • Enforce safety standards and company procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement in field operations and installation practices. Travel & Schedule
  • Extensive travel throughout the United States is required.
  • Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-hour days.
  • Extended workdays, including 10-hour shifts and weekends, are common depending on project requirements.
  • Overtime opportunities are frequently available but are not guaranteed.
  • Overnight travel is expected.
Requirements:
What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of heavy industrial construction experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience installing or servicing industrial equipment.
  • Welding, fabrication, rigging, and hoisting experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in the lumber or wood products industry is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Additional Requirements
  • Pass pre-employment and customer-required drug screenings.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
