The H&K Group is seeking a Maintenance Operator for our heavy civil construction operations. In this role, you will perform routine and preventive maintenance on construction equipment and production plants, operate machinery safely, and support daily site activities. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical issues, completing inspections, keeping accurate maintenance records, and assisting with equipment setup and tear-down. You will work closely with supervisors and crew members to ensure maximum uptime, safe working conditions, and high-quality project delivery across a variety of mid-Atlantic construction sites and facilities. Responsibilities Perform routine and preventive maintenance on construction equipment and plant systems Operate heavy and support equipment safely in accordance with company and OSHA standards Troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues Conduct inspections and document maintenance activities and equipment status Assist with equipment setup, relocation, and tear-down on job sites Coordinate with supervisors to prioritize maintenance needs and minimize downtime Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in clean and safe condition Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements Support production and site crews with equipment-related tasks as needed Required Skills Equipment operation Preventive maintenance Mechanical repair Hydraulic systems Basic electrical troubleshooting Safety and OSHA compliance Lockout/tagout procedures Use of hand and power tools Reading maintenance manuals and diagrams Maintenance recordkeeping
