Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday' weekend work is also necessary on a need basis. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training; exposure to high-speed equipment. 2+ years of related experience in packing machines/production machines. Preferred Education and Experience OSHA Certification(s).
