Job Description
Structures-(Primary Skill): Ability to perform all Level A operations Ability to perform advanced mechanical skills Perform assembly, disassembly, and repair of aircraft structures per industry and regulatory standards under general supervision Adapt to working on multiple aircraft platforms to expand skills and knowledge Read, interpret, and apply schematics, enhanced blueprints, technical manuals, work instructions, and engineering data Execute work accurately using authorized technical documents and engineering directives to make major and minor structural repairs Ability to use PC/computer systems to access technical resources and processes Operate precision measurement tools/instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, and calipers for inspection and verification Identify and evaluate corrosion, surface damage, and defects; initiate proper reporting, proper corrosion clean-up and assist with corrective action processes Select and use advanced hand and power tools effectively, including various drills and drill bits, bucking bar, rivet guns (2x, 3x, 4x), various high-speed sanders, grinders, rivet cutters, various types of hand snips, deburring tools, files, cleco s and clamps, and fastener installation/removal tools Assemble structures and components utilizing jigs, fixtures, and tooling; perform tasks such as drilling, countersinking, reaming, dimpling, and fastening Perform close-tolerance assemblies involving drilling, shimming, fitting, aligning, and trimming components Pulling mislocated holes using hole finder tools and ability to transfer hole punches Ability to perform cold working of fastener holes Remove damaged material without causing additional rework Replace structural parts like ribs, stiffeners, stringers using blueprints and engineering callouts Operate equipment such as brakes, grinders, band saws, and drill presses adhering to safety and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention protocols Perform installation and removal of various fasteners including solid rivets, pop rivets, head rivets, flush head rivets, hi-loks, joe-bolts, cherry max, hi-shear fasteners, and rivnuts Conduct advanced layout repair and drilling tasks using engineering drawings for fastener patterns and panel replacements Perform enhanced panel removal and installation efficiently Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written form with team members, supervisors, and stakeholders Order parts, materials, tools, and equipment as needed to support work activities Perform Alodining procedures and apply surface treatments and perform enhanced primer/paint touch-ups following safety and hazmat protocols Knowledge of various composite and sheet metal properties, aluminum, titanium, CRES, and magnesium etc. Comply fully with health, safety, quality, tool control standards, and company policies Demonstrate knowledge and adherence to Hazardous Energy and Lock Out-Tag Out procedures Mentor and assist junior technicians; provide guidance to ensure quality workmanship and safety Demonstrate proficiency in shop mathematics, riveting techniques, assembly methods, and blueprints interpretation General Maintenance (Secondary): Perform maintenance, repair, assembly, and modification of aircraft, engines, components, and systems under general supervision. Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. Follow regulatory, manufacturer, supplier, and company directives, including FAA, DOD, and technical manuals. Interpret and apply blueprints, advanced shop mathematics, schematics, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, work orders, and technical orders. Perform tire and brake servicing, following safety precautions and necessary instructions. Operate jacking equipment, ground support equipment, and participate in towing operations adhering to safety and procedural requirements. Use hand and power tools, including pneumatic tooling and fastening devices, torque wrenches, properly and safely. Perform layout, drilling, stuck screw removal, fastener installation/removal, and panel removal/installation tasks. Perform removal, installation, and adjustment of structural and powerplant components according to technical data. Perform structural repairs including floor beams/boards, interiors/exteriors, galleys, lavatories, A/C Lube, cargo liner sidewalls, seat tracks, stringers, and corrosion-related tasks. Apply Lock Out-Tag Out (LOTO) and hazardous energy control procedures rigorously. Conduct inspections and tests on aircraft systems including hydraulic, air conditioning, electrical, and mechanical components. Measure and verify dimensions using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, scales, gauges, and feeler gauges. Operate enhanced ground equipment operations including lifts, carts, and towing equipment safely. Maintain accurate documentation about work performed, equipment status, parts requisitions, and safety compliance. Provide guidance and assistance to junior mechanics, supporting skill development and procedural adherence. Adhere strictly to FOD prevention, safety, health, quality, tool control, and environmental regulations.
