Job Overview Responsible for inspecting freezer equipment, performing basic maintenance duties for freezers, and defrosting freezers as necessary Responsibilities Routinely inspect freezers and freezer equipment Inspect equipment daily Evaluate integrity of freezer equipment and determine potential or actual equipment failure Report any problems to the maintenance supervisor Perform preventative maintenance repairs on the freezers as needed Perform basic maintenance duties for freezers as necessary Assist in repairs of refrigeration systems, boilers, and hydraulics Maintain operational ability and integrity of all freezers Conduct shut down and start up operations for freezers according to proper procedures Conduct cleaning (defrosting) operations for freezers Perform basic preventative maintenance procedures Maintain all records and documents Responsible for fire sprinkler system for all areas. Assist with the training and development of all Refrigeration Personnel Update daily compressor room logbook's Daily water chemistry for Boilers, RO and Towers, log and correct any issues Responsible for maintaining all refrigeration equipment, freeze tunnels, water wells, water storage and filtering, boilers/steam piping, central hydraulic system, and forklift/pallet jacks Responsible for keeping the refrigeration/forklift/battery rooms clean and always organized Follow all food safety (GMP) and general safety guidelines Follow all lock-out/tag-out procedures for all equipment Complete other tasks as assigned Qualifications Lift up to 50 pounds Frequently work in an extremely cold environment Basic knowledge of refrigeration systems, ammonia systems, hydraulics, boilers, and basic freezer equipment Basic knowledge of plant operations and equipment Electrical/electronic/PLC trouble shooting and repair ability One year of previous refrigeration experience
