In this role, you will assemble refrigeration systems and mechanical components used in industrial equipment, environmental chambers, HVAC units, or commercial refrigeration systems. If you enjoy hands-on work, can read mechanical drawings, and take pride in building high-quality products, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities Assemble refrigeration units, cooling systems, piping, and mechanical components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and production schedules. Install compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, fans, motors, copper tubing, fittings, and refrigeration accessories. Measure, cut, bend, and route copper tubing using hand and power tools while ensuring proper fit and alignment. Braze, solder, and connect refrigeration piping in accordance with company standards and industry best practices. Install insulation, electrical components, sensors, and control wiring as required for each assembly. Perform pressure testing, leak detection, and basic operational testing to verify system integrity. Charge refrigeration systems with refrigerant when required and in accordance with EPA guidelines (for certified technicians). Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, piping diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), and assembly instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, drills, tube benders, flaring tools, and other assembly equipment safely and effectively. Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications. Accurately complete production documentation, inspection reports, and work orders. Collaborate with engineering, quality, production, and test departments to resolve assembly issues and improve processes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following OSHA regulations, 5S principles, and company safety policies. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous mechanical assembly, refrigeration assembly, HVAC installation, or manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and assembly instructions. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail. Experience with brazing, soldering, or copper tubing installation is preferred. EPA Section 608 Certification is a plus but not required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
